Password Query

My son is currently currently divorcing using the 'managed-divorce' website. He recently used a friends pc to put in some information but forgot to log out. If he changes his password on his own pc, would it then be inaccessible to anyone else even if his friend hadn't logged out for him?

I assume the access on the other PC would have timed out by now (unless his frieind has been using it regularly) so he should be able to log on his own PC and change the password

Yes if he changes his password on the "managed divorce" web site his friend wont be able to access it on their PC.

The logon information is probably held in a "cookie" on his friends PC so if the password in the cookie does not match the actual password his friend wont be able to get on the website.

Unless, of course, the friend has not closed-down the window or his pc and the webpage is not one which times out.

Even if the webpage doesn't 'time out' if your friend logs in on his own computer and changes his password, then his friend won't be able to access the site from his computer anymore as the password has been changed on the site.

If I logged in to AB on your computer Kathyan and walked away then (I believe) you would have access to my AB account until you closed down your browser or your pc, regardless of what I did to my password on my own (or any other) pc. Once you have closed you connection to my account you would not be able to access it without knowing the current password. In other words, the account only needs to be verified when you REconnect.
