It can be possible, but it could involve modification to your mobile phone and put you in a position of breaching contract or warranty. Also you could have to find, on-line, a suitable driver to download to you computer.

My daughter and son-in-law always charge up their mobile phones through my computer.

Can happen if you have a data cable plugging into a USB port. Not always successful I find though.

Usually takes longer than charging via the mains.

all mobiles can charge from a usb socket, the new buses here have all there seats with a usb charge point on them and my sat nav can only be charged from a usb point or in car socket
