I will give it until Friday and if it still does this I will go to the 3 shop and see what they say as it will of been 14 days since I got the phone thanks for your replies
The number one cause of battery drain is your iPhone’s screen. To stop it from wasting battery, make sure it’s not turned up to full brightness. You need to find the balance between it being readable yet not so dazzling that it quickly runs the battery down – that's somewhere between 65-70% is a happy medium.
To adjust the screen, swipe upwards from the bottom of the screen to pull up the Control Centre, then drag the slider to the left to decrease the brightness.

There are certain features, such as wi-fi and bluetooth, which guzzle battery life. Turning them off when you don’t need them will help your battery last longer.
When you’re on the home screen, swipe up from the bottom to bring up the Control Centre. Tap the wi-fi and Bluetooth symbols to turn them off. It’s worth noting that iOS updates will often switch Bluetooth back on again, so it’s worth checking your Bluetooth setting after every system update.
It’s also useful to turn off location services. Do this by heading to Settings, Privacy, Location services. Once you’re in Location services, use the slider to control whether the feature is on or off.

Have you got location services on. Many sites aske for it, but it means you phone is constantly connected.
Go to Privacy and turn it off.
Also, if you have a lot of stuff still open, things like revolving advertising and embedded movie clips can cause drain. If you double click the home button and then swipe up to close everything, see if that helps.

It would appear to a novice like myself that there is a close correlation between a smart phone & the contract you have with your supplier. As I have previously explained on these pages, when I changed from a monthly contract to PAYG with my iPhone 4s & although I thought I had switched everything in the background off, the phone was constantly searching for a signal ( where I live in Rurality there isn't one) & of course I was constantly shoving money into a huge void. Realising that a smart phone was not really my scene I am now happy with a modernised upgraded bog standard mobile which gives me voice & text facilities for nowt as I still after 3 months have the original PAYG £ 10 balance.
