They include using a program that I'm unfamiliar with (ESET Poweliks Cleaner) but, as Malwaretips.com is a highly-respected source of reliable information, I'd have no worries about downloading and running it.
However Malwaretips.com does sometimes go for a bit of 'overkill' in its instructions and my own instinct would be to try simply running the free version of Malewarebytes Anti-Malware (which is included in those instructions) on its own first. If you've not already got it, you can download it from here:

(NB: At the end of the installation process you'll encounter a pre-ticked box offering you a free trial of the 'Premium' version. Click to remove that tick before proceeding!)

Also, might need to boot to Windows Safe Mode and try scanning from there.

To access Safe Mode, restart your Computer and keep pressing the F8 key continuously and it should eventually display an options screen where you can select 'Safe Mode with Networking'.
'Safe Mode' will load default Windows system components where you can login with your usual Windows account credentials and enable you to run a Malwarebytes full scan of your Windows Disk system. See the 'F8' option section discussed in:-

Recommend that you try starting up in Safe Mode and running a full Malwarebytes scan as per my previous post..
Your previous attempt at startup into Safe via pressing the F8 key may have failed if the F8 key was not pressed at correct timing of Windows starting up. Try again from power-on and keep pressing the F8 key repeatedly in quick succession.
