google maps is constantly losing GPS signal , ive been stuck in centre of london etc when this has happened and its cost me hours to find my way again.

im using samsung s4 galaxy smart phone. any idea what i could do to fix this annoying problem .

if it keeps happening am i better buying a tom tom or garmin ?

As others have suggested on the other thread, turning off wifi may help as it will pick up hundreds of other connections
Tall buildings play havoc with the GPS signal, as do some car bodies.
Ensure that the phone is as close to the front windscreen as possible, and held in a constant orientation.

im in belfast, a small city, not too many tall buildings. even outside of city still gps going off all time.

does same happen to garmin or tom tom gadgets ? maybe i will buy one.

Any city with a lot of buildings is going to have signal blackspots. I`ve used a phone occasionally for getting me on the right track but i never drive in central London. That said I`ve driven through a number of European cities and the issue doesnt seem to arise. I`m a garmin fan - but you must do the quarterly updates.
