What are you actually trying to do with Windows Media Center? (Horrid US spelling!). If you've got a TV tuner module installed in your computer, you can plug an aerial into it and (via Windows Media Center) watch terrestrial TV channels on it. However (since the advent of digital TV) the inclusion of TV tuner circuits in computers has become far less common. WMC clearly thinks that you want to watch Freeview channels but can't 'see' a TV tuner in your computer.

So are you trying to watch Freeview channels (with WMC no longer recognising that there's a TV tuner circuit built into your computer, even though there is) or are you seeking to use it for a completely different purpose (which doesn't require a TV tuner circuit anyway), such as playing music or video files from your hard drive or streaming internet media?

just trying to watch Freeview channels and its coming up with the fact that there is no tv tuner installed
Have you tried updating the driver?

This assumes you have been watching freeview through WMC before now.

yes have checked and drivers are up to date it states I have the latest drivers
You probably need to reinstall the driver for the TV tuner. So the first thing you need to do is to find it listed in Device Manager (unless you've got an installation disc for the TV tuner, in which case you can just reinstall the software from there).

Click on Start.
Right-click on Computer.
Click on Properties.
Click on Device Manager.
(Look for any yellow exclamation marks, which might suggest a driver problem, but don't assume that everything's OK if there aren't any). Double-click on the relevant section (which is likely to be Sound, Video and Game Controllers).
You're seeking an entry roughly like this one:

Once you've (hopefully!) found it, right-click on it and click on Update Driver Software.
Once that's been done, restart your computer and try again.

(If you find the TV tuner listed but the 'update' option doesn't work, you'll need to find the driver software on the manufacturer's website - ask for help if you need it, telling us the make & model. If there's no tuner listed at all it might be a physical connection problem, or simply a dead tuner circuit, which could be a bit tricky to fix!)

Make & model?
I've never tried to watch Freeview via Media Centre, never knew it was an option, but from the warning it sounds to me as if it is expecting to get the data via a physical tuner/aerial installed in the PC ? Sounds to me as if it is looking for a TV board plugged into the backplane.
