before buying dongle, you need to establish which network provider (if any) has 3g coverage in the area you're going to.
diesel have you checked out the bt hotspot map for Ireland. You can subscribe on a weekly or monthly basis. I will have a look and post back.
It look like there is a hot spot in the north of Dublin, but I do not know what the reach is from the Merry Hill location.

its not that remote, its outside of a town called bray south of dublin..
It look as if Bray is to far from Dublin to use the wi fi BT hotspot diesel. Shame.
You've got 5 companies to choose from in Ireland:

Meteor offers 4G reception in the area surrounding Bray. Click 'Check network coverage' here and enter the address:
https://www.meteor.ie/ournetwork/
Here's their pre-pay rates:

Post Mobile only offers 3G:
https://postmobile.ie/why-postmobile/coverage-map/
and I can't find any dongles advertised.

Tesco also only offers 3G:

Again, I can't see any dongles advertised.

Three offers 4G but it doesn't cover as much of the country as Meteor does:

Their prices are here:

Vodafone offers 4G almost everywhere:

Prices here:

No help with your question, but I have very fond memories of Bray. My father was born there and we went there as children every year.
But I'm sure Buenchico has sorted out your problem, he usually does.
Bray, even though it's in wicklow is covered in the Dublin commuter belt, I was wondering where you were going remote in Ireland, we're not that remote, I'm in the midlands and have great connection, you can get daily wifi allowance from Eir if you didn't want to purchase a dongle for Ireland, most cafe's in 'remote' Bray have wifi hotspots as do hotels and B&B's Buenchico has already provided a link of some providers, don't go postmoblile, they're on an 18 month contract, you can buy a PAYG dongle with Vodafone, meteor, 3, out of those, 3 is the best and as your in Bray/Dublin, you'll have no problem - just steer clear of postmobile - they're prices are going up in June
Have you considered satelite internet, a bit pricey to set up but its OK once its installed.
