Tiny Symbol Has Suddenly Appeared On My Screen.

When I booted up this morning I noticed a tiny circle on the
screen just above the speaker symbol.
It is half the size of a match stick & even though I hovered over it
I can't remove it or discover what it is.
Being an absolute technophobe I am hoping it is not sinister.
I ran Malwarebytes with no issues thrown up.
Any advice please as I am a worrier.

I'm interested what you are looking at when you say your 'speaker symbol'

Computers/Laptops are strange animals. Sometime, disconnecting all cables to them and removing batteries, if possible, then leaving for Half an hour and then re-connecting everything, is enough to correct faults which have developed.
You may consider trying a complete shutdown with all cables disconnected or even contacting Acer as indicated in the following link:-
