We have an old laptop running on XP, the outlook page has changed this week and now when composing an email, if we start the address of the recipient it no longer auto fills from the contacts, each one has to be done separately. Anyone have any helpful suggestions?

Hotmail was always a total joke and it seems to have got even worse since it's been renamed as Outlook.com.
All I can suggest is to get yourself a decent email account:

(You can still use your Hotmail/Outlook address via the Mail Collector facility if you want to)
