Which Site For Upgrade Please?

Atm I'm on OH's Laptop, she's away and rang up a while ago to ask me to upgrade it to W10 for her.
When my Laptop upgraded it did it overnight as I had left it turned on, so I have no idea what the upgrade site looks like.
Question is, which is the site to upgrade from, as lots pop up when searching for W10 upgrade. I'm obviously avoiding the ones that say 'Buy W10' and the ones that dn't have 'Microsoft' in the Title, but that still leaves quite a few to choose from who all seem pretty much the same at first glance.

Take a look in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. If your OH has been getting prompts to upgrade to W10 there should be a Windows icon there. (Hovering the cursor over it will display 'Get Windows 10'). So that's what you need to click on.

Have a quick look through Windows updates on the laptop may be something there.

This is the site I used to upgrade a desktop running w7 2 weeks ago Baldric. What system in the Lap top running at the moment?

Ah just seen you w7 post Baldric. It may be worth doing any available w7 upgrades first and empty the recycle bin etc.

Another point Baldric you may be asked for the microsoft product key, which may be on a sticker on the lap top or with the original paperwork. The product key is a series of letters and numbers in groupsof four and is case sensitive. it looks something like this 54Tw-78wB-T8Y5-bTuX-72h6.

@Buenchico......I keep advising folk to avoid W 10 and have even gone as far as saying that you would agree with me.

For the record...Will you be up-dating to W 10.?

If you go to Windows Update in Control Panel and scan for updates it should give you the option to upgrade to 10.

I tried 2 computers via the automatic way - no luck.

Go to this site

https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10ISO

Download the media creation tool.

Run it - you will be given 2 options: upgrade this pc or create media for another pc.

Go for the 2nd option.

I will download the file and then ask you to burn it to dvd.

Once you have the dvd, run the setup file (or if it asks to autorun)

You can then upgrade from that disk.

You will get a blue screen with a progress percentage, after that you'll get a black screen with a percentage in the middle

Took me at least 4 hours for each pc!
