Everytime I get online, within the first minute I get a message saying "Wind0ws.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience."  Notice that's Wind0ws spelt with a zero...what's that all about?  I click on "Don't Send Report" and the message disappears and I get on with it.  Any ideas?

May I add that I get the same message but about "Windows Explorer", which is followed by the computer going crazy.  Also Hotmail is "Forbidden 403" or something!

Already seen that, but any idea what it is or how it got there?
It's spyware. Logs all sites you visit and reports them to its master. Probably got in if firewall not on/updated/installed.

Right...so does some hacker now know my...surfing habits?!  Or more importantly my online banking details?
habits...yes. OLB details...very unlikely. Best to get a spyware removal tool if you don't have one (quite a few free ones available) and get spyware removed.

Thanks for all your help - I deleted the file manually but it's still a bit haywire, so I'll try a removal program.

Hope this link works, I can never seem to get them to work.
