Virgin Media Is Now Slow Since Upgrading Contract

my contract was over and was thinking of moving to talk talk, then virgin says they will offer me a new contract 12 mths at £30 a mth of 50 mbs instead of the 70 i was getting at £39.00 a month.
that was yesterday, today i notice internet is slow to turn pages and load videos on youtube etc.
can i cancel ? whats the best deal around at minute , im in belfast ni.
maybe talk talk or bt , sky is allways expensive isnt it ?

First of all put your postcode in here and see what speed you get with another provider:

Reboot your router to see if that helps. Phone Virgin if it doesn't and get them to test the line.
If Virgin can't put it right you can cancel within 14 days of the new contract (from yesterday).

Your upload speed and ping are okay, but for some reason your download speed is dire.
I'm with VM, also on a 50Mb/s broadband and my results are:
upload 2.86 Mb/s
download 25.56 Mb/s
ping 162 ms.
As hc suggested, I'd reboot your router and if that doesn't help, phone VM (have the speed test results at hand) and inform them that you may have a fault and see if they can help :)
