Advent Wireless Mouse Amwlpp15
10 Answers
I bought this yesterday - not had a wireless one before . I've put the batteries in, switched it on underneath, inserted the dongle into a USB point but it does not work. I've tried another USB point but no good. The red light is on underneath the mouse but it doesn't connect to laptop. Any answers in simple words please. Thank you.

When you plug the receiver in for the first time you should get a message saying that the drivers are being installed. If this isn't happening the receiver could be faulty; ask for a replacement.
I'm sorry Rosie, I've never had an Advent mouse & my HP & Logitech mice work the way I said, so I guess bhg's comment about the receiver would be the next thing to check.
bhg - I've never seen a msg re drivers for any of my mice & the HP one's light is on permanently. I suppose different manufacturers work in different ways.

Try opening Control Panel, then Mouse) and look at the tabs across the top. One of them should refer to your new mouse, click on it and make sure it isn't "disabled".
Also, from Control Panel you can open "Device Manager". Check the Mice listed. Also , at the top of the page, select the Action tab and "scan for hardware changes".
