and needs to restart"
I'm seeing this at least every other day now. A blue screen appears saying the above. Am sick of it now.
Any help please?
Laptop, using Chrome.
Thanks
right click start, control panel and seek out recovery - click on that then click open system recovery and follow - it does not destroy anything as to Word files, photos etc.
OK. Click on the little window logo bottom left of screen or press the windows logo key on the keyboard.
Click on the little cog icon that pops up and reads settings if you hover the cursor over it.
Choose update and security from the half page menu that appears.
Choose Recovery from the next menu that appears.
You will now see 3 options. Reset PC. Go back to an earlier build. Advanced start up.
I would try go back to an earlier build and see if it gives you an option that is prior to your phone event. There may be a list of restore points with dates depending on if you have had any upgrades recently.
Are you still around Baths.? I feel sure that Togo and DTC are as interested as I am to know if you have now solved matters.
Just a thought. Chrome does Not take kindly to certain addons which can interfere with its advertising material. I dislike google so much that I keep telling folk to get shot of Chrome and change to another Browser such as Firefox.
Hi gents, sorry I haven't updated you, but I've done sod all about it *slaps own wrist*
Shall defo do it now, cos similar thing happened this morn, only this time it was American woman's voice nagging me, and notice said summat about a Zeus virus?
Back in bit, hopefully....
May I suggest to get rid of unwanted callers you get a BT 8500 phone - and try norton power tools which are free - just google it - and will clear the deepest virii. Updating your graphics drivers might help as well.
Thanks CrapAt, but may I suggest you are also crap at understanding an old laydee with no tech savvy whatsoever? ;)
Graphics Drivers????eh? wha?
Much appreciated though ;)
If you download Piriform Speccy and run it, it can tell you a lot about your computer. The info on the graphics page can probably show the driver version you are using; but you'd need to go to the manufacturer's website (or maybe MS's these days) and see if it is the latest. But if you are confident a workshop could check that out for you and update if necessary.
Have phoned PC repair shop, and asked him if I could stay with it while he fixed it, and he said no way,....it would take few days to fix that virus...is he lying to me to hike bill up?
