I was thinking about buying one, but maybe to complicated for my Technical Ignorance?

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.It seems to me that it controls a whole load of other expensive gizmos such as Hive (central heating); Hue (lights); Wemo (special sockets you plug your devices in to so you can control them over wifi such as coffee maker, tv, sound system, electric curtain track, even your iron); your music system; your pc/laptop/smartphone so you can control them by your voice.
The idea is that you speak your instructions and it carries them out using one or more of the connected gizmos. I suppose it would be extremely useful if you are paralysed and bedbound.

Well, yes, if you're paralysed it would be useful. But why would anyone else need a gizmo to open their curtains?
