"save " A Mobile Voicemail To Pc?
4 Answers
On a Smartphone (Moto G2/Virgin) has anybody tried saving a voicemail recording to PC? I have an important voicemail recording that will expire in 10 days, and would like to somehow retain it. I've Googled this topic just to see if it was even possible. Any feedback/method used appreciated.
For now I've simply put the phone onto speaker, played the message and recorded the message to another phone using a recording app (Green Apple Studio), and then sent this to PC via Gmail. Quality of original message not ideal, so ideally would prefer to copy direct to PC. Thanks

(It's under 'Accessories'. In Windows 10 it's called Voice Recorder). Alternatively, for maximum flexibility, install Audacity:

Get hold of a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable:

Plug one end of the cable into the headphone jack on your phone and the other into 'Line In' (or 'Mic') on your computer.
Play your message and record it. (You might need to experiment with the volume from your phone and the gain setting in your recording software for best results).

PS: Windows Sound Recorder save files into .wma format. If you want your recording saved into .mp3 format you can either save it as .wma and then convert it (using any of the numerous online file conversion tools) or use Audacity.
However, due to licensing restrictions, Audacity can't export files to .mp3 format in its native state. You need to install the LAME MP3 Encoder first:

(Note, as well, that you then need to click on 'Export', and NOT on 'Save', to save your file into the desired format).

Easiest method would simply be to install a call recorder to the Moto, Record the voicemail as you collect it, then either copy it to the PC via USB or email it.
