I've been 'pestered' re a systems update for my Android phone .

The options were - ' Maybe later' or ' Yes i'm in '
I've been choosing the first option
However , i inadvertently chose the second option last time .

My phone is set to run updates over WIFI .
I suppose therefore that when i get back home , the update will start to run automatically .

The thing is i don't want it to run - so how can i stop it , whilst been able to use WIFI for doing other stuff ?

Can't you cancel it once the update has started?
Is there a particular reason to avoid the update ?

As for your question, I don't know. I'm sure, given enough knowledge about Android there must be a setting one could edit.

It's a long shot but maybe battery removal would clear things. I'd not be overly confident it'd work though.

From what i read , people had lots of problems from the last update from lollipop to Marshmallow .

I assume that this notification which i had ( although it did not specifically say ) is for updating from Marshmallow , to Nougat .

My intention was to wait and see the feedback
