Watch Video On Ipad

Something has changed as I can no longer watch video clips on my ipad. For example there is a news story with a picture and a video clip, but when I click on the video it doesn't play. The play button simple goes back to the three horizontal lines. I have tried playing video on several different sites, and they are all the same. I haven't knowlingly changed any settings .Any suggestions?

I had this problem when trying to view bbc weather. It said it download JavaScript Anywhere which I did. It allowed me to watch the video then

Strange to think I might have to download anything since all was OK last week. Why would things change?

Try clearing Safari
Settings>Safari>Clear cookies and Data.
Then close ALL apps on your iPad and reset the device "home and off buttons together until Apple logo appears then try again.

Thank you, a proper reboot seems to have helped. I should have thought of that of course!
