Free Anti Virus

I used to have avg and liked the format -then I bough a two years' fully comp' upgrade which was on special offer at computer shop but had problems after the first year. Too complicated to go into here - anyway,uninstalled that and put in avast (free) but I don't really like it - it keeps telling me I have unreputable add on and all sorts of things but I don't seem to be able to resolve problems without buying an upgrade.
Can I uninstall it and then install (free)avg without getting complicated - am not computer literate. Many thanks.

Yes, it's easy. Remove it via the Control Panel.

If you don't like Avast, try Avira. It's also free and pretty lightweight in the sense it doesn't hog computer resources.
