Syncing A Fitbit Alta To Laptop And Ipad

My Fitbit Alta is synced to my laptop. However, I'd like to sync it to my iPad, because I'm assuming I won't need to find the dongle each time if I do it that way. I've downloaded the app on my iPad, but there doesn't seem to be any icon to show me how to sync from there. Any ideas?

As far as I am aware in the app there should be a 'device' tab, tapping that should ask you to pair with your Fitbit and then all will be plain sailing

That's the kind of thing I'm looking for on the app, but can't find it. Any hints from anybody about where it might be?
