I am still using XP, and am transitioning to a new PC. For now I need the XP one to work. I started to get annoying pop up whole tabs appear on Chrome and did everything I could think of to stop them. Eventually I decided to remove Chrome and then reinstall it. Trouble is, I now can't find a way to do this. I'd be very grateful for any advice. Firefox is very glitchy and I seem to now get Yahoo Canda when I open a new tab and do a search! Help!

To uninstall Chrome, start here:

Reinstall from here:
https://www.google.com/chrome/
(Access that page vis either Firefox or Internet Explorer)

To sort out Firefox's problems, first make sure that you've got File/Edit/View/History, etc across the top of your page. (If it's not showing, right-click up there and put a tick next to 'Menu bar'). Then go to Help > Troubleshooting Information. Click on Refresh Firefox.

Have you scanned for malware ?
XP is no longer supported by Microsoft security updates. Please see the latest news for proof of failure to upgrade unsupported operating systems. Sounds like you still connect to the internet.

Thanks- I have reinstalled chrome. But I discovered 4 additional tabs/spam pages when I left the PC idle. I've run all my usual malware programs. Any advice gratefully received!
