My wee Kindle is not picking up emails. The wee wheel is whizzing round, but that's it. It's been like this for a few days. any advice gratefully accepted.

Thanks.

Not had much to day with them things Boaty, is it possible to remove the battery? if so that should reset it.
Question Author
Good point. I'll get my hammer and chisel out shortly. Thank you. I hadn't thought of that.
Question Author
Can't see any obvious way to get at it. I'll have to consult the idiot guide.
Just a thought Boaty, are the screws under a label on the rear? they will be miniature screws usually near each corner.
Question Author
Can't see any. I know there is a section in the idiot guide about changing the battery.
I don't think you can get to the battery.

Can you check your emails from another device?
I'm not the best with Links Boaty, just YouTube opening Kindles, the answer is there, you need to use a knife or such.
Question Author
ummmm I can get my emails on the laptop, I'm on it at the moment.

I think you're right TWR. I will look at that. Thanks. :o}
try rebooting..hold down power switch 'till it goes off and resets....or simply delete account and set up again
Question Author
Why didn't I think of that! duh!

Just switched it off. About to restart. Watch this space!
Question Author
Done that. One new email! Progress! :o}
clear all deleted stuff
Question Author
I do that regularly, otherwise it clutters up disc space.
let it run down and power itself off later..then fully recharge
Good grief.
Hold the power switch for twenty seconds. You will need to slide the power switch along and hold it for twenty seconds before releasing it. Your reboot screen should appear when you release the power switch. Give your device time to reboot for a minute or two. Turn the Kindle Fire HD back on.
