Can you tell me if I could receive all free to view channels just by connecting to my spare sky + had box. I have a single cable from my satellite dish. Thanks in advance.

You'll get all 'free to air' transmission s (as in my link above) without a card. If you get a Freesat from Sky card you'll also get a handful of extra 'free to view' channels, as in the link I provided previously: https:// en. wikipedia. org/ wiki/ Freesat_ from_ Sky# Extra_ channels

If you're connecting more than one satellite receiver to a dish you'll need a dual (or quad) LNB attached to the dish. (If you've currently only got a single LNB fitted you can buy a dual one for under a tenner). You'll then need a separate cable from each LNB output to each of the two satellite receivers.
As I wrote before, a generic satellite receiver (which is what a Sky + box is without a subscription), attached to a dish pointing at the group of satellites used by Sky, can receive all of these channels:

They include all Freesat channels (and many more) but Freesat and Freeview are two different companies, with different channel availability. Freesat has more channels than Freeview but there are a few Freeview channels (such as Dave) which aren't available on Freesat.

Thanks Buenchico. I have a twin cable from dish to my sky+ had box in lounge. The other twin cable from dish is devided into two, one feeding freesat box in dining room and the other in bedroom which I could connect another sky box to. Would I need a card or would I get all free to view without a card? Your help is always appreciated. Terry
