Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good free simple-to-use YouTube to MP3m converter please?
I searched the site, and tried the ones there - there seems to have been a cull.

You can try this one that I use on the odd occasion:

That's odd. I thought that I'd solved this one for you before!
I use Firefox with Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express installed as an extension:
https:/ /addons .mozill a.org/u r/firef ox/addo n/easy- youtube -video- downloa d/
As long as the software thinks that you've made a voluntary donation, all that you need to do to rip an MP3 file from Youtube is to click the 'Download As' button which appears below the video and select the file format you require. (There's a short delay while the file is uploaded for conversion). You can convince the software that you've paid up simply by clicking on this link
https:/ /videod roid.or g/thank s_for_s upport. html
which places the relevant cookie on your computer.
Alternatively, use any of the myriad of programs which enable you to download the entire video file to your computer. Then convert it to MP3 using VLC:

Hi Andy:
If you previously installed the extension, first check to see if it's still listed. Click on the hamburger (three lines, top right), then on Add-ons. Then click on Extensions in the left-hand panel (if it's not already selected). See if Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express is listed and not shown as Disabled. (If it is shown as disabled then, obviously, click to enable it).
If the extension isn't shown, type its name into the box at the top right and hit enter. Then click Install next to the correct extension.
Once you've got the extension installed, whenever you go to a Youtube page there should be a big, green 'Download As' button underneath the video. Click on that to see the options. Most of them will work without payment but the HD video and MP3 buttons won't work unless you've been to this page first (so that the relevant cookie is on your computer):
https:/ /videod roid.or g/thank s_for_s upport. html
(If you've got Firefox set up to always retain cookies you'll only have to go there once. If you've got Firefox configured to delete all cookies on exit you'll need to go there whenever you open Firefox and want to download MP3 files. So it's worth bookmarking that page).
