Agh! Internet problems!

Agh help me! My bt broadband keeps disconnecting every 3 minutes. It reconnects fine, then 3 mins later it is back down. I tried the same internet connection on a different computer to see if it was just this laptop which was broken but still the same happened then. How can I stop this from happening?

Is it a wireless internet connection? Becuase if it is,we have the same problem, especially if it is a USB port connected one. My "computer-wise" friend ahs told me that they are very unreliable (So glad he told me AFTER I bought it) and that the best thing to do is to replace it with a card (i'm pretty certain you can't do this with a laptop). If it is wireless, try moving closer to the source, if not, You'll have to contact BT (although in my experience they are not very helpful at all).
