Bt Smart Hub Problems - Can Anyone Help?
8 Answers
Had one of these some months back and everything's been fine. Took advantage of the BT TV offer (to watch cricket - but wished I hadn't!) and was sent what looked like an identical BT Smart Hub. Queried why, to be told the new one had some software improvements over the previous version. Was initially reluctant to change as I was getting very good service with the previous one, including watching BT Sport, but did so.
Since then, although the laptop and TV connections are fine (both wireless), the Ipad is all over the place. Despite a 'tick' to show it's connected to the Hub, I'm invariably told to enter the password, which I do, to be told 'enter the password' and so on. Sometimes I get internet connection on the ipad, but it's now very slow. I did at one point manage to watch BT Sport, albeit briefly. SkyGo is acting similarly.
Any suggestions ABers? I did wonder about refitting the previous Smart Hub on the basis that, for some reason, the new one was OK for laptop and TV, but not for the ipad. Is that possible do you think?

Found a forum with some tips. You don't say whether it is 5 or 6 hub.
//After a firmware update ALWAYS perform a factory reset of the Hub and manually change your settings back. This will help the new firmware to properly configure, although it is not always necessary it can help.
Turn OFF Smart Setup as this can cause issues with some devices mainly apple products.
Make sure you SEPARATE BANDS in your Wi-Fi settings as this can solve many wireless issues including, range, speed and disconnects.
Leave your Hub turned ON at all times. Turning off or rebooting your Hub all the time will make the DLM think your line is unstable and decrease your speed (Interleaving)//

Togo - just seen your latest post. Both hubs are the same i.e. 6. I did no more than switch over from previous to new, and keep powered up, which I always do. All I thought I had to do, in theory, was to enter the new password on the TV (which worked fine) and ditto on the ipad (where all the problems are.)
