What Could Be Happening?
14 Answers
When I type the letters do not appear straight away but seconds after, this is most annoying sitting back waiting for one's words to appear on the screen.
This only happens on AnswerBank and has only started today, when I type in Word everything is normal.

I can give you a sneaky way around it when it is happening. I remember you said that all was ok on other sites or using other apps. So type up what you want to post in your email drafts or in the word processor app or something then copy and paste into the Answer Box. When you have posted just delete from your email draft or wherever you typed it up.
I don't know how AB works but in the days when I worked I managed a system where a central computer was linked to terminals, allowing information stored on the central computer to be accessed via the terminals. With that system when you typed a letter on the terminal it went straight to the central computer, which acknowledged receipt by sending the letter back to the terminal which, in turn, displayed it on the screen. In other words, you didn't type directly to your own screen, you typed to the central computer and it typed on your screen. If AB works in a similar manner anything you type has to go to AB and back again before it appears on your screen. It would require the person in charge of the software for AB to tell us if that is the way AB works.
