Didn't know where to post this but it covers so many basis I put it here.

Anyway, man from Carphone Warehouse rang me and offered me an upgrade to my phone, it was due so thought I would take it up.

Sent it through the the post and I attempted to set it up myself.

He said I could use my old SIM card so I tried to insert it into the new phones slot, you are then supposed to put in the tray but it just won't go in the SIM is jammed so I can't move it anywhere. Think I should have put it onto the tray and then put it in but I must of done it wrong.

I rushed down to my local shop but they were not interested saying there was nothing they could do, they don't have the tools for that!

So now I'm completely stuffed what do I do now? Rang the Tech Team who advised my to try and shake it out (unsurprisingly this did not work!)

I feel so stupid, they are just not interested, more or less saying it's my fault (probably is to be fair).

So I'm left with a brand new phone which I'm paying for for the next 2 years and nothing to show for it.

My husband is away and told me not to set it up till he got home, but I couldn't wait. Grrrr I feel so stupid.

Sounds like you put a micro sim where it should have been trimmed or swapped for a nano sim.

Is the sim drawer fully closed? Can’t it be prized open with a pin?

I haven't a clue but could you use a pair of eyebrow tweezers to try to get hold of it?
Try one of the mnay repair shops that are popping up - they will have the tools.
Could you get hold of it with some tweezers, or long nosed pliers and pull it out?

If not, every town has a couple of Asian lads running a phone repair stall or shop. They would sort it for a few quid.
are you on facebook? you might ask on your local page if there is a local phone mender who can help you.
Actually don’t mess around with it, from what you say I wouldn’t thing the actual sim reader is damaged. Haven’t you got any little phone shops or market stalls that repairs/sells phones/ cases etc? If so take it to them and they should be be able to help for a fee, if not then take it to your phone providers shop on the high street and they maybe able to help, maybe do that First before the stall.
look on youtube, might a vid on how
“If not, every town has a couple of Asian lads“

Are they always Asian? I’m in London so most of those shops are run by Asians but have always wondered if in mainly Caucasian areas are those guys white or do those shops cease to exist?
There’s quite a few vids on YouTube if you google “ sim stuck”

Here’s one but I’d be weary of messing up the phone beyond repair

Thanks for your replies, I can't even see it to pull it out so looks like I may have to take it to a repair place.

I'm so annoyed with myself.
Have you tried using the SIM card key to pop out the sim? You can use a pin/ needle. It’s a small hole next to the sim drawer in which you insert the pin/ needle/ sim key and it should pop out
Always, from Herne Bay to Carlisle!
^^^^^ reply re Asian lads coming to the rescue.
Thanks maydup :)

The tray is already out, I can't get it back in.
Darcey, the sim card ejector key goes in to a hole very close to the drawer. Using it MIGHT push your sim card out so it's worth a try
Is the SIM flat in the tray?
The sim isn't in the tray - it's in the slot that the tray slides in to
Some branches of Carphone Warehouse have workshops. Try taking the phone to one of them.
Ours are Asian, but I think there may be a Turkish one as well!
