Someone once showed me how to access all the numbers then to line them up in numerical order in XL. I suspect that there are few, if any big winners who have used identical numbers.

It is useful though to see which numbers the biggest winners chose- if your numbers do come up you are likely to win a bigger amount if you choose unpopular numbers. There are data on which numbers are chosen most often

(Not for the first time, despite the ‘Alert me about answers’ box being ticked, nothing arrived).
I understand that there are people who choose the same numbers of the last week’s lottery. As the numbers are random, it is of course possible that they will recur the following week, and if so, big winnings will be diluted.
Late last century I bought a £2000 Premium Bond and another £2k bond the following month. On one, it has won 19 times - all different numbers, –the other only 5 times. That doesn’t seem very random to me, but if you disagree, let me put you on the spot by asking, ‘Which bond would you sell?’
