Some possible causes that come to mind:
1. Overheating due to blocked vents:
(Solution: Check that all ventilation points are unobstructed. Clean dust & fluff out).
2. Overheating due to a poorly mounted processor:
The processor in your laptop should be mounted onto a special thermal bonding paste, which transfers heat away from it. A knock to the laptop can cause the thermal bond to break, leaving the processor overheating.
(Solution: Not as easy as above because it needs someone to open up the laptop and check whether the processor is properly mounted).
3. Malware causing a system conflict:
(Solution: Download, install and run AdwCleaner: https:/ /www.ma lwareby tes.com /adwcle aner )
4. A corrupt registry entry:
(1st try solution: Download and install CCleaner. Run it, click on 'Registry' and allow the program to tidy up the registry.
2nd try solution: Run System Restore, to take the laptop's registry back to a date before the problem first occurred. You can find it via Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools).
