My pc suddenly displays the following upon start up, & not knowing much about the settings I don't want to fiddle too much. Can anyone help?

FDC Failure

Press F1 to Resume

Hi wally, well FDC is the diskette drive, if you never use the diskette for anything you can disable it in the BIOS or get a new one fitted if you need it.

To disable it go to the BIOS when booting, it may be press DEL or F2 or whatever but it should be shown on the screen when you boot, the first screen will show the hard drive and diskette etc.... set it to NONE for diskette and then save and exit.
