Password Unlocking

I have just set up a new phone .Has anyone got the Vodafone smart E8 .got everything working ok but I can't understand why I have to use my password every time to unlock it .i don't even know why I managed to lock it .many thanks if anyone can help

You shouold be able to remove that in settings - security - screen lock?

Don't have that handset, but, you've checked settings looking for password active ?
