We left BT quite a while ago as lots of problems with broadband but we kept our e mail account and still use it.
Several years ago we switched to Plusnet but now have a problem as we are having a new computer installed and we need to move everything across but we can't remember the BT e mail address password (the box is ticked to say remember me, so we have never had to sign in) anyone able to help about having the password re-set with BT without them de-activating our account?
This e mail is set up on Microsoft office outlook 2007.
Any assistance appreciated.
Thank you!

Since the login password for Outlook 2007 is of the type where you just see asterisks in the box, any one of the multitude of basic password hacking programs should be able to read it for you. This is worth a try:

Surely the old computer has stored the password.

Someone cleverer than me will be along soon to tell you how to view the stored passwords.
Try Googling ,'view stored passwords in Chrome' or whatever browser you used.
^^^ It's not a password in a browser, Hopkirk. It's in the Microsoft Outlook email client.
Oh, OK.
Perhaps ring Plusnet and ask for their help - they are owned by BT after all.
