will Not Boot Up

What does happen when you put your password in, Henry?

Do you get an error message? If so,what does it say?

Are you sure the password is going into the box? Do the letters or asterisks (*******) in the box. Do you need to click on the box before you type the password? Or maybe CAPSLOCK is on or one key on your keyboard isn't registering- although I'd expect a message saying 'password incorrect'. Are you sure you are pressing enter at the end?

im sure password is the box
i clicker on the box after i put in password
not getting incorrect password
not shutting down properly
have to use on off button.

Sometimes when my Dell laptop wont come on I have to turn it over remove the cover to see if the hard drive has come adrift . If it has then I push it back into the cogs and the laptop comes on again.

Can you see the power options in the login screen? if you can do that, press Shift + Restart to enter the safe mode. After that, to reset the restore or go to control panel.
