Can I record directly from my keyboard to PC/CD?
Dear all,
This might be a stupid question, but technology is not my forte! Basically, I have a very nice Yamaha CLP120 clavinova keyboard thing, and a decent computer. What I want to do is record myself playing directly onto my computer, and ideally onto a CD. Is there any equipment I can buy to do this? First I thought I might just buy a microphone, plug into my stereo and transfer onto a cassette. But really I want to cut a CD that I can use as a demo. Also, I would like to make a copy for my mum, as she's been asking me for years! Then I thought that I might be able to just plug a lead into my keyboard, that ran directly into my PC and record this way? Does anyone know what I can buy to achieve this? Do I need some special music software?
Any help really really appreciated! Or if anyone knows a decent electrical retailler I might contact and ask, please let me know.
Thanks very much
Will H

And you will need some software to be able to record with like FruityLoops or Cubase.
OR you could go the cheap route and just record straight from the Mic input on the computer using Sound Recorder (part of Windows).
