How Do I Get Rid Of Margins Marks On My Word Documents

I was preparing a document last week and I dont know what I did but on every document old and new ones I am creating I have this annoying what I can describe as a backward p at the beginning of every row, I dont want that, I must have asked for it inadvertently but it is annoying me. Any idea how I can get rid of it? It doesnt come out when printing but I dont want it when Im working on documents. Many thanks

Usually it appears and disappears (along with the dots in the spaces between words, and arrows for tab characters) when you click the ¶ button on the Home tab. If that button doesn't change the appearance of the paragraph marks, click the Office button (the circle at the top left) and click Word Options, then click Display, and clear the check mark from the box for "Paragraph marks".
