Broadband Connection
OK, I'm probably going to sound dumb here, but I have a query regarding broadband internet connection.
I am currently living with my Parents and both myself and my Mum have computers with separate internet access (not broadband) using the same phone line. We are wanting to upgrade to broadband. How do you do this. I know you have to subscribe to a provider, but do you attach something to your phone connection, or to your computer processor or do you have to install something into your processor. As you can tell I am confused.
Also if I decide to upgrade to broadband and my Mum doesn't, is this possible?
Many thanks for any answers and help.

Just subscribe to any provider and they'll give you what you need, with instructions.
If your computer has a USB port, you'll be ok.
You'll need to plug things on all phone sockets, they'll explain.
Your mum can keep her dial-up internet while you have broadband.
But then she might want it too when she sees how fast it is, and in that case it will get more complicated...
so you want to decide that before ordering, because the kind of modem you order depends on how many computers you want to connect to broadband.
