Windows Severn 7 Boot Problems

I recently tried to restore my old computor to an earlier time and somehow down the line i must have messed things up. I now find when i start up I receive the folling screen . I have the original Windows 7 Professional instalation disc but unfortunately my discdvd disc drive on the computor is us and a new external one does not seem to work. I have tried restarting several times and a few others things beside but every time i receive the message as per my sceen shot below.

The external DVD drive may not work as it is probably plugged in to the USB port an the USB port may not become active till Windows loads, so a chicken and egg.
I seem to remember there was an option in some BIOS to make the USB active before Windows loads, but I am not sure if that is still available or if it is available on all PCs.

Also you could try pressing F8 DURING BOOT UP to go into Windows Advanced Startup Options.
You could then select various repair options.
Note F8 needs to be pressed over and over again during boot up to make sure it works

If you have access to another PC (a friend or relative) you could download the Windows 7 code from here, then put it on a USB.

Then (as the DVD drive does not work on your PC) make the USB bootable and boot YOUR PC from the USB stick and do the Windows 7 install with that.
