I have only 15% of internet left with BT and this has to do me for 9 days - am not too sure but I think they will charge me £1.60 for a "byte" if I go over my limit. I get 15mg a month.
Is there a way of cutting down and where am i going wrong with using the "bytes". The only thing I have been doing a lot of this month is youtubing. Has this used the "bytes" up - sorry for the many questions.

However hardly any internet service providers offer 'capped' services these days; they're nearly all 'unlimited'. In an age where many people get at least some of their TV services, such as Now TV or Netflix, through their modems, 'capped' services simply aren't up to the job.
So, irrespective of which ISP you go with, you really ought to be seeking out a deal which allows you use an unlimited amount of data.

yes thanks Chris - I will get friend next week to ring BT again - although I have overdone with the unnecessary youtubing this month - I can live with the 15GB.
friend got me a package yesterday reduced from £60 to £40 but at that time I forgot about the unlimited broadband which I think will rock the price up to £50.

Prudie - I was with Talk Talk for a while but they couldn't cope with my hearing helps. You know flashing phones, flashing lights in the living room, kitchen and bedroom. The flashes went off all the time frightening all my visitors so I had to go back to BT. Even now when the flashes go off after all these years - they never fail to frighten the bowels out of ye.

Incidentally, I was led to believe that I could expect a download speed of 36 Mbps but I have now been informed in an e/mail from BT......"We estimate your download speed will be between 54Mbps and 55Mbps, and your upload speed will be between 9Mbps and 10Mbps. The minimum guaranteed speed you can expect from your broadband will be 52Mbps".
One does need to keep their eyes on BT and question a lot if necessary.

Jenny ...BT is ripping you off. Get your friend to Contact BT and enquire how a friend who lives in South Wales is able to get unlimited Broadband (Including line rental ) and all one hour telephone calls free for a period of 18months, at a cost per month of £33.98; as and from September 18th.

We've found BT to be absolutely shocking - both in terms of price and customer service. We've just managed to switch back to Sky for our broadband and phone. BT wanted £175 off us for ending our contract - cue lots of phone calls and now they don't want anything from us (and they offered a brilliant deal if we stayed with them). I appreciate it must be hard sorting things out over the phone but if you did switch to Sky they do a brilliant on-line chat to sort out any problems.
