does anyone know anything about computers? Am on my partner's PC and quite frankly it is screwed! Norton Antivirus says it has detected Trojan Horse virus but is unable to repair it!!! Also on all webpages, the page only takes up the centre half of the screen and the font is too big and overlaps, the rest of the page is just blank. I have tried altering the resolution to no avail. Can anybody offer any help before we throw this heap of junk out the window?! P.S. He is with Tiscali which is probably to blame for everything if past experience is anything to go by!

have just found out the trojan is trans.exe if that helps further...
Have you tried running (Lavasoft) ad-aware or Spybot (or any similar spyware type programme - these are free downloads) - looking at google for trans.exe this looks more like a trojan/hijacker than a virus - heres a site with removal instructions which "may" help? good luck

Try this link, it's a very good FREE download, and it usually detects & heals Trojan Horse viruses.

http://free.grisoft.com/

Not sure if that link is working, so try -

I agree, try AVG by Grisoft. I used to have Nortons, but this ******** my machine up. I have since then used AVG anti virus and Ad Aware and my machine runs perfectly. Stay away from Norton. trust me.
Bin it and buy a Mac.
