I just downloaded a video clip, and when I click on the file to play it, windows media player opens up and it only plays the audio. How can I view the video as well? Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks for the advice. My friend just told me to download a VLC player, so I will try both. Wish me luck!
Could be that it's an DivX or XVid encoded. Is it an .avi file?
If so, download DivX player for free (www.divx.com) for all your avi file playing needs.
The above post should read "Could be that it's an DivX or XVid encoded FILE."
It's the keyboards fault!

I hate to admit my ignorance, but I have no idea. All it says under file type is "video clip". How can I check what type of file it is? Thanks!
can't you get into it's properties box and see what it says?
If it says 'Video Clip' (as opposed to Movie Clip) then it's probably an .avi file.
If you've downloaded DivX, use that to play it instead of Windows Media Player.

All is well with the world. I was able to play it through the VLC player. Thanks all!
