USB to Ethernet

I was wondering if there is a cable that would allow me to plug in my USB only modem and have an ethernet line and plug at the other end.

Or do I need a new modem with an ethernet cable. Its to use my PS2 online

not to my knowledge. if the PS2 demands an ethernet cable for internet, then you need a new modem.

but doesnt the PS2 have USB? Can't you use the USB port?

The Ps2 does have two usb ports, but you cannot use them to connect to the internet and play games online, so i am told. If I have a modem with one usb line coming out of it, can i just buy a router box and use one of the ethernet cables for ps2 and the another for the pc?

If you intend to buy a router, why not get a combined modem/router? Connect up your PC and PS2 using ethernet and forget about your old USB modem.

NO, you don't need a new modem.
You can plug the PS2 on an ethernet port of your PC, and make your PC share the internet connection with the PS2.

I suppose you'll need a "crossover" ethernet cable to connect the PC and PS2 together.

...however the solution above requires the PC to be powered whenever you wanted to use the PS2 online.
