I’m am travelling to Egypt and have been told the WIFI in the hotel is a bit scrappy. Am I correct in thinking I can buy a Vodafone data bundle simm in Egypt (Approx £16 for 20gb) put the simm in my unlocked iPhone then let my iPad connect through the iPhone? I will mainly be reading the newspapers and a bit of Facebook will this work and is 20gb enough (I won’t be watching films or anything!)? Anything else to be aware of?
Thanks.

If your iPad will connect to your iPhone's data in the UK it will work in Egypt.
How long will you be going away for?

I will be away for 14 days in total, not a heavy telephone user mainly text or if I can get on WIFi instant messaging!
20GB should be enough if you're not streaming movies or games. Plenty for email, news and FB - and AnswerBank

Thanks I may try it with an ancient iPhone 4 to save juggling simm cards! It’s worth a try!
It is worth a try :) If it doesn't work and if you go away often or find yourself needing to use your iPad on 4G a lot you could think about buying a MiFi or similar device.
