I have an HP psc750 printer, scanner, copier and just recently when it is switched on my computer freezes and I have to rebooot with the printer turned off.I can't resolve this and have tried reinstalling using the disk, downloading drivers and patches from the HP web site and installing from add printer on XP. Any ideas on how to fix this or do I get the rubber mallet out?

typicly system freezes of this nature are caused by 2 things. 1 is incompatable drivers, in wich you may have to wait for a new drive. The other reason is system conflicts. Its very possible that you may have an IRQ conflict or something. I'm assuming that you have this installed on the computer your having the problem with. Try it on another computer and see if it works (provided you have another computer). Otherwise, you can check your device manager (start~>settings (you may not have if you are running XP)~>control panel (should have even with XP)~>system (for XP it could be perfromance and matnance~>system)~>then hardware (on winME or prev it you won't see hardware)~> device manager (on win2k and winXP it is in the middle of the page, on earlyer vrs of windows its a tab at the top). In there you should be able to find your printer. After that you should be able to look at all the system settings. If your not sure of what your doing however it may be best to speak with a computer tech.
