Can someone please consider this.
Switching on produces a pale grey screen. After about 10 mins a weak picture appears and eventually becomes normal, after some flashes. Thereafter TV is OK. Sound is always present.
Does this sound like a repair job or time to bin?

1.5V - 2.0V

I suspect a repair would be impossible, due to the unavailability of parts, or eye-wateringly expensive. I think it's earned its keep - bin it.

I have a Sony Bravia of similar vintage. With the symptoms as described I'd call it a day. As I'm not bothered about HD, 4K etc it would be relatively inexpensive to replace.
