Difficulty Trying To Copy An Mp4 Movie From Computer To Dvdr Disk?
6 Answers
I need to copy an MP4 movie from a memory stick in my computer to a DVD disk so that it can be played on a TV.... so far I have tried burning it onto a DVDR disc and it's not working. Can any of you wise heads tell me how to do it, or if it's the wrong disk I'm trying to use. Keep it simple, I'm not very tecky, but I feel that I should be able to do it. Thanks in advance.

It's similar to if you copy a CD full of MP3 files - it won't play back on a lot of home CD players (although some do), you need to convert it to a format which the CD player will recognise.
Similarly with the DVD - you need to change the format to something it'll recognise.
A quick google found this, although I haven't tried it, so I can't vouch for it:

You've probably simply burned the .mp4 file to the disc rather than converting th file to DVD-Video format (which is a .vob 'container' file, holding together a collection of smaller files) first.
This is incredibly easy to use; it does the conversion and the burning together in one easy step:
