Hi, do itrips work in all cars - just plug in lighter socket and play?

The iTrip plugs into your iPod, and broadcasts an FM signal over a short distance. It's then a case of tuning your radio to the relevant frequency.

iTrips (illegal to use in UK as I understand it!) sometimes don't work properly if you radio aerial is too far from the ipod.


For example a friend had a large hire car and the aerial was on the boot and the ipod at the front of the car (on the dash) and he had trouble getting it to work; presumably as car was attenuating the signal too much, as the 2 were too far apart. You can move the ipod nearer but then of course you may not be able to control it easily.

i have a griffin itrip for my mini and works fine everywhere from in the house to in the car
