strange behaviour of computer

Can anyone help me? My computer has started acting strangely. The icons on my desktop have grown in size, and the clours have gone all fuzzy. I tried changing the colours in 'settings' but it hasn't helped much. Is it time to send it to 'computer heaven?

sounds like your pc has booted in safe mode. which would imply there is a problem with the system files. does it say safe mode in top corner of screen?

Hi tim, sound like your display mode has defaulted back to 16 colors and 480x640 res. You don't say what operating system you use, XP? 98? linux? or whatever.

If it is windows right click anywhere on the desktop background, select properties, select settings, it should show a box for ''colors'' and a box for ''screen area'' set the colors to at least HIGH COLOR (16bit) and the area to 800x600, click OK etc...... You might need to reboot, then see if it is OK or at least has it changed???

I'd agree with qapmoc, though depending on the age of your computer it may be that the area is set at 800x600 currently, giving you the effect you describe. Experiment with the "larger" area settings. 1024x768 is fairly common these days.
