I`m going to buy a sim free mobile. I already have a sim free deal. Is it just a case of putting my existing sim card in the new phone (both Samsung) or isn't it that simple?

Yes that's all I've done, providing you have correct size sim.

If sim card doesn't fit you will need to get an adaptor you can get them for free from local mobile shop. Mostly for free if it's from shop that provided phone.

Thanks for the replies. Just wanted to arm myself with that knowledge before I find myself at the mercy of the wide boys in the phone shop.

Google the SIM size for your old and new phones. If the new one is different, order a replacement asap.

Thanks hopkirk. Yes, just found out the new one will be a nano sim and the old one is a micro sim so it's not going to be as simple as I thought. I wanted it up an running to take on holiday on Sunday but I might just get the phone and leave the sim until afterwards.

Does your Micro Sim have a pop out or cut out conversion to a nano sim?

Oh thanks for that Baldric. I`ve just looked at it and it looks like it does so I might be alright then.

Never tried or heard of these, let alone tried one, so no recommendation.
Alternatively buy a pay as you go nano Sim for while you are away.
But I would have thought your service provider could get you a nano sim by Saturday, if you contact them, if you haven't done so already.

Does you sim service provider have a local shop, I just walked into Vodafone and they put a new one in. no charge
