I have to input my WiFi password every time after shutting down. Is this a feature of this printer. Can’t it automatically remember the password as happens with other devices like smartphones and tablets. Thanks.

Somewhat surprisingly (given that other devices in my house could automatically connect over wifi) it turned out to be a router problem, rather than a printer one. Replacing my router provided the solution.
So, while I'm definitely not suggesting that you should rush out to buy a new router, it might be worth power cycling your router to see if it will make a difference. (Turn your router off, leave it for a minute or two and then power it up again).
